What is party lean?

Published

From the Vekuva team

Written by the people who build Vekuva. Not news, and not analysed.

Party lean is an AI estimate of which party a story's coverage leans towards in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. It describes the coverage, never the party or its voters.

Treat it as a rough guide

People and the model often disagree on this estimate. When we compared the model with people who labelled the same stories, the agreement we published was low. That is why the estimate always carries a qualifier and a link.

See how party alignment agreement is measured.

What no label means

No label means the model did not estimate a party lead. It does not mean the story was checked and found balanced.
