In brief
Rice prices in Telangana have been increasing over the past week due to factors like lack of rainfall, water scarcity, and reduced old grain reserves, according to merchants.
Wholesale prices have surged by about Rs.1,200 per quintal, while retail prices for premium varieties like HMT and BPT are now reaching Rs.9,000 per quintal.
