In brief
Private water tanker owners in Hyderabad staged a strike, protesting against the removal of what they claim are illegal borewells by Revenue and HYDRA authorities.
During the protest, they blocked other tankers and poured thousands of liters of water onto the roads.
Meanwhile, public anger and criticism have grown over the wastage of water during a citywide shortage.
