In brief
Punjab Police in Ludhiana arrested a driver working for a religious leader for alleged drug possession, which the family claimed was staged by planting a packet of heroin under a bed.
A hidden camera revealed a police officer placing the packet before a raid, leading to the officer's suspension and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) being formed.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state government faced criticism from opposition Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal over the incident.
