How this is computed
This is an almanac, not a prediction. It reports where the Sun and the Moon are, and the five traditional elements that follow from their positions by fixed definitions. It does not forecast anything, and there are deliberately no rasi phalalu and no birth charts on this site.
Positions come from an astronomical ephemeris. Sidereal longitudes use the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, which on this date is 24.2333°. Our ayanamsa agrees with published Lahiri values to within one arcsecond over the period 1900–2050.
Sunrise and sunset are the moments the Sun’s upper edge meets the horizon, including atmospheric refraction. Some panchangams instead use the centre of the disc, which puts their sunrise about 3–4 minutes later and their sunset the same amount earlier — and because Rahu kalam and the other periods are measured from sunrise to sunset, theirs will differ from ours by a few minutes too. Neither is a mistake; they are two conventions.
Every element is shown with the time it ends, because a tithi or nakshatra changes at an instant and is rarely the same all day.
Varjyam is not published here. Its per-nakshatra fractions differ between traditions and we could not find a citable primary source, so rather than print a figure we cannot stand behind, we print nothing.
Checked against published panchangams for a sample date and agreeing to within a minute. The full method, the sources and the outstanding checks are on the methodology page.
